The City officially broke ground on the Amphitheater on July 14, 2009. The site, located on Jack Warner Pkwy,just west of the Hugh Thomas Bridge is scheduled to open in fall 2010.

March 16, 2010 MEDIA RELEASE FROM THE OFFICE OF THE CITY ENGINEER REPAVING PROJECT WORK ZONE TRAFFIC CONTROL ANNOUNCEMENT The Office of the City Engineer advises that the City’s inspector, TTL, has announced the areas of the City that S. T. Bunn will be repaving this week beginning Wednesday, March 17th. They are: Wednesday – finish up Hackberry Lane between 15th Street and Hargrove Road and then move to Hackberry Lane between Paul W. Bryant Drive and University Blvd. Then they will move to 15th Street between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue. This will be either late Wednesday or on Thursday, the 18th of March. These areas will have at least one lane of traffic at all times and flagmen will be in the area. The hours of work in these areas will be from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. All timetables are dependent on the weather. Please be mindful of these work zone traffic control changes during your daily travels.
MEDIA RELEASE FROM THE OFFICE OF THE CITY ENGINEER DOWNTOWN URBAN REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT WORK ZONE TRAFFIC CONTROL ANNOUNCEMENTS The Office of the City Engineer advises that the City’s contractor, GFC, will extend the closure of 21st Avenue from just north of University Boulevard to the ABC Store Access Drive through Friday, March 26, 2010. They will also extend the closures of 7th Street from 21st Avenue to 22nd Avenue, 6th Street from 21st Avenue to 22nd Avenue and 21st Avenue from just south of University Blvd. to 7th Street. These closure extensions are due to the weather and are needed in order to complete the curb, base and paving in this area. Please be mindful of these work zone traffic control changes during your daily travels.

TDOT advises that the east bound lane of Old Colony Road between Northridge Road and Rice Mine Road will be closed daily beginning March 16, 2010 through March 19, 2010 from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The closure is due to road maintenance.
The City of Tuscaloosa Department of Transportation will be sweeping the following general areas the week of March 15, 2010. Greensboro Ave. to Hackberry Lane and 15th St. to 29th Street (2-C) Dogwood Lane, Skyland Park, Sky Ranch, Streets & Avenues (7-A) Druid Hills, Arcadia, Claymont (5-B) Woodland Hills (East), Hillswood Lane, Berkley Heights Rd., 26th to 28th Street E., 44th to 48th Ave. (6-B-3) In order to allow the sweepers to do a thorough job, please refrain from parking on the street in these areas this week.
The City of Tuscaloosa Department of Transportation advises that motorists should use extreme caution in the location of AL Hwy 69/Skyland Blvd (US 11S) intersection. This advisory is due to the installation of new traffic signals. The work zone area will consist of slow moving vehicles and personnel on the ground between the hours of 8:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m. continuing through the end of March, 2010.
